Welcome to

Conscious Communities

Hello!

Hi, my name is Catherine. I am an acupuncturist, healer, and budding psychedelic therapy therapist, and I am fundraising for a non-profit organization that I am creating, called Conscious Communities, which offers psychedelic therapy to individuals from traumatic backgrounds, and marginalized communities.

The why

As you may or may not know, it costs several thousands of dollars just to create a non-profit, which does not include obtaining a physical location or providing any services, which is why I am creating this fundraiser.

I had the idea to create this non-profit after recognizing that psychedelic therapy is on the move - with decriminalization efforts in Oregon, Colorado, and parts of California, and research picking up momentum at Johns Hopkins, people are beginning to wake up to the real, potent, long-lasting, positive effects of psilocybin.

But I see some potential red flags - pharmaceutical companies are processing and synthesizing psilocybin (the active component of psychedelic mushrooms), and luxury intensive retreats are being sold for thousands of dollars ($2k-$10k), which is creating a very inaccessible environment for this form of medicine.

This will only further segregate people who desperately need a progressive approach to mental health care, trauma-based therapy, and substance abuse.

Promising Results

  • Depression

Positive studies are showing that psilocybin can help drastically reduce depression in people FOR UP TO ONE YEAR, after A SINGLE DOSE!! And the SAME results are shown with people who had a single dose of psilocybin to treat cigarette addiction!

  • Creativity

There are also many studies on the ability to come to creative solutions to problems in life which, when combined with the effects on depression, offer valuable opportunities to create massive change in one's life, rather than turning to substances or becoming stuck in the same pattern in life, because you see no other options.

  • Trauma

Another amazing feature that has been studied, is psilocybin's positive effects on trauma of all kinds - including racial trauma. This opens up a doorway into helping SO MANY people that are often left behind in the realms of healthcare, especially with mental health and substance abuse.

Impacts of Psilocybin in Marginalized Communities

These are wildly impressive statistics and hold a vision for a very exciting future.

And no one should be left behind.

Not everyone can afford healthcare, and even fewer can afford to spend thousands of dollars to attend a luxury-style retreat. This is a medicine given to us by nature, and traditionally has been used in ceremony, and healing, for a much smaller price (if any at all).

Another piece of the puzzle is follow-up integration sessions, to continue to apply the beneficial effects of the therapy, as each person integrates back into their daily life.

It is my dream to create a non-profit brand that offers low-cost, and potentially WAIVED costsfor those who desperately need it.
But it takes a village.

A Bonus

As I will be opening my healing practice to psychedelic therapy retreats and integrative sessions, anyone who donates may choose to put that amount towards a deposit on either option, as a token of my gratitude for you joining in this journey to shifting the state of the world. ** see form below**

Make a donation.

These donations will go towards creating a non-profit that will be housed in Colorado, to start. As laws change, and more visibility is seen, it is my dream, and hope, to open multiple locations throughout the United States, to ease the burden of traveling.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Thank You!

Thank you so much for contributing towards the advancement of mental health!

In the future, I also hope to include other forms of psychedelic therapy in the future, such as MDMA, Ketamine, LSD, and Ayuhuasca, with appropriately trained psychiatrists and therapists to administer this type of medicine and healing.

Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions that you may have for me!
